A Bit About Me

An experienced educator with a strong background in non-profit management and diversity & equity education. Despite adversity, he continually establishes community outreach, diversity & equity programs, launches new culture events, and provides training and professional development for his teachers and staff.

March 2018 - August 2022

Managed daily operations at an international non-profit with approximately 45 employees and an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students per term. Responsibilities include: Staff, Operations & Budget Management; Community & Partnerships Development; Training Design & Implementation; Financial & Reporting; Human Resources; and Cultural & Community Service.

  • Saved the NGO from closure by reversing its cash flow from negative $ 70K to positive $ 30K and reconciling $ 100K of fiscal discrepancies. Succeeded this feat by introducing streamlined administrative processes, best practices, and restructuring the overall accounting policy.

  • Increased employee engagement by standardizing compensation packages, providing opportunities for employees to design and work on special projects/activities, and doubling the number of adult activity options.

  • Instituted strict financial control and creative programming to successfully complete the last half of the contractual obligation with the U.S. Embassy for the ACCESS micro-scholarship program in 4 months with 25% of the budget.

  • Successively hosted the two largest international conferences in the association's 50-year history (600+ and 700+ participants) using active listening to identify the wants and needs of partners and international participants.

  • Reduced telecommunications expenses by 50% and annual IT repair expenses by 80% by renegotiating the telecommunications contract locally and upgrading the technological infrastructure to become an international test center.

  • Improved community engagement by increasing the number of cultural events from 2 to over 20 events per year, half of which represent customer demographics. This initiative resulted in an increase of more than 80% in the attendance rate.

  • Oversaw the organizational restructure and decision-making process as well as created and articulated all policies and workflow, ensuring effective communication and implementation of ALC and ACA policies.

  • Established solid partnerships with vendors and publishers to introduce new programming materials now being used by 50% of the organization's NGOs. Benefited from donations of materials and custom programming materials from the publisher.

  • Streamlined administrative processes by using Google Suite interconnectivity, freeing time for 80% of admin staff to cross-train and specialize in other duties.
